The Society of Experimental Test Pilots
Indian Section Symposium ~ 11 July 2026
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - Deadline Extension!!
The Fifth Annual SETP Indian Section Symposium will be held on 11 July 2026. The Symposium will be held in Bangalore, India. Venue to be announced shortly.
This year’s Symposium Chairman is Air Mshl Vikram "Polly" Singh, IAF (M).
The seminar theme for this year is “Modern Trends in Flight Testing”. Towards this, the technical committee welcomes presentations on flight testing of all kinds of vehicles. We would particularly like to include papers on first person, lessons learnt aspects, of testing programs undertaken by members and indeed, by the Indian flight test community. We would also encourage organizations to share development lessons learnt. This can be a challenging task. Why did organizations make the decisions they did with relation to development projects? With the benefit of hindsight, did the decisions prove to be right? Could it have been done better? While it can be challenging to get approval to discuss developmental lessons learnt, it can be invaluable learning for our focus group – the young test crew being inducted into the flight test community. Always wanted to pass on life lessons on flight test? This is your chance. Your thoughts could make or break future developmental programs.
This is an official call for abstracts. Those interested in presenting are requested to submit abstracts (no more than 250 words with titles less than 10 words) of their papers. Your abstract should focus on the key points of your presentation and the most important lessons learnt. Some accompanying notes to your abstract on how you intend to structure your presentation would be welcome. Presentations for the 2026 Indian Symposium will be selected based on their technical strength and potential to educate a wide spectrum of attendees. Each technical presentation is given a 30-minute slot (25 minutes for the technical presentation and 5 minutes for questions from the audience). Formal written papers are not required but will be gratefully accepted for publication in the SETP Cockpit magazine, if found suitable. A best paper award is planned, to be presented at the venue.
Those interested in submitting papers are requested to submit an abstract by 15 June 2026 to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
REMINDER: You do not need to be an SETP Member to submit an abstract, so please share with your flight test colleagues. All SETP events are open to the public.
