The Boeing Company is looking for a Military Derivatives Test Pilot to join our team in Seattle, WA.  This position will work in the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations.  This division develops and flight tests military derivatives of various Boeing commercial aircraft for use by both the US military branches as well as foreign militaries around the world.  The designs range from commercially certified supplemental designs to military specific requirements and often involve military specific systems related to communications, surveillance, self-defense systems, aerial refueling, military cargo and airdrop, and weapons delivery.  

Travel is required for this position and varies from 5-20% of the time depending on specific program activity.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Military Derivatives Test Pilots.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts ground, flight and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype, new production, and modified production aircraft to determine system functionality, aircraft performance, structural integrity, and certification of aircraft
  • Contributes to technical reports, flight manuals and flight reports
  • Assists with evaluation of flight data (e.g., system performance, aircraft handling, and equipment malfunction) and participates in aircraft design to recommend changes to design based on operational considerations
  • Collaborates on marketing, evaluation and demonstration activities for customers

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Military Flight Test Experience
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) transport pilot rating or military equivalent
  • Current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements
  • Military flight experience in the KC-46, KC-135, KC-10
  • Military Test Pilot School Graduate
  • Prior aerial refueling qualification and/or aerial refueling certification test experience desired
  • Type ratings in Boeing commercial model aircraft desired
  • Graduates of the Defense Contract Management Agency’s Government Flight Representatives course

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Experienced Level (3): $203,000 – $245,000

Summary Pay Range for Senior Level (4): $240,000 - $300,000
