C-27J Spartan Integration Support – Joint Base Langley Eustis

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA (www.cruzinc.us) has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for a C-27J Project Integrator in support of the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC) at the Technology Applications Program Office (TAPO).  The job location is Joint Base Langley Eustis (JBLE), Virginia, supporting integration and testing of a myriad of cockpit and avionics systems upgrades on C-27J Spartan aircraft.  Interested applicants should apply through the Careers page by completing the online application and uploading their resumes. 

Scope:  Provide subject matter support services for the modernization and cockpit upgrade program for USASOAC’s C-27J Spartan aircraft.  Successful performance requires extensive knowledge of the component and aircraft level qualification requirements and the ability to interface effectively with aircraft systems integrators, systems engineers, Original Equipment Manufacturer, Government airworthiness authorities, and other C-27J Users.

Responsibilities: (Not all encompassing)

  • Provides technical, analytical, and program management support for the C-27J aircraft programs.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics as they relate to cost, schedule and performance for the cockpit integration effort.
  • Develops concise and accurate performance specifications and procurement documents. 

  • Interprets, refines and integrates user requirements as they relate to the development process.
  • Assists in all technical reviews associated with cockpit integration efforts.
  • Independently estimates and evaluates cost and schedule and monitors vendor compliance with stated requirements.
  • Identifies potential risks and suggests appropriate courses of action should technical issues arise, or user requirements change.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: BS in Engineering Management or Program Management or in a technical or aviation-related discipline; or equivalent experience in a related technical or aviation- related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in military aviation is required; 5 years of which involved acquisition experience (supporting prototype development, testing, qualification, and fielding of aviation systems or mission equipment).

Additional Customer Desired Characteristics:

  • Avionics specialty would be a desired specialty area.

Experience on the C-27J or C-130J highly desired.

Future Vertical Lift Integration Support – Joint Base Langley Eustis
