Aerospace Engineer - Ft Eustis, VA

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related discipline from an accredited engineering college.

- 10-15 years of relevant experience.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Clearance Requirement:

- Final Top Secret Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- DAWIA Level II certified in Program Management, Test, or SPRDE or a PMP Certification.

- Graduate/Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from an accredited engineering college

- Knowledgeable in helicopter performance theory, performance models and performance flight test data.

- Knowledgeable in helicopter mission planning tools for calculating performance and mission planning parameters.

- Knowledgeable in helicopter mechanical operation and flight critical subsystems.

- Knowledgeable in helicopter operations and use of operator manuals, weight and balance calculations, etc.

- Knowledgeable in the process and documentation of helicopter airworthiness.

- Knowledgeable in preparing technical reports, flight test plans, technical findings, and airworthiness substantiation documents.

- Knowledgeable in preparing acquisition documents, including acquisition strategies, program budgets, and contracting plans.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Duties:

- Serve as an Aviation Program Manager’s liaison for determining the impacts of aircraft modifications to aircraft airworthiness.

- Prepare and present technical and historical documents for a review board to determine impacts to airworthiness and continued helicopter safety of flight.

- Recommend, justify, track, and distribute airworthiness release documents, including but not limited to substantiation documents, airworthiness releases, and configuration control documentation.

- Calculate helicopter performance based on test, published, extrapolated or estimated data.

- Evaluate data for inclusion in helicopter user manuals.

- Work collaboratively with a team to integrate the performance data into aircraft software and Mission Planning systems as appropriate.

- Support the program manager in the design, development, integration, testing, evaluation, fielding, and support of aviation weapons systems and associated mission equipment.

- Assist budget and logistics specialists in the development of system costs.

- Perform technical writing.

- Occasional travel (1-2 times per month) within the continental US.

- Additional duties as assigned.
