SETP's 50th Annual European Symposium
6-10 June 2018, Turin, Italy

 

It’s time to give you more information about next year’s European Symposium to let you efficiently organize your schedule.

First of all we want to confirm the dates. You should plan to arrive on Wednesday, June 6th and leave not before the 10th of June to be able to “taste” the full program: The Technical Tour is planned for Thursday and Friday and Saturday will be two full days of the technical presentations, with the Gala Dinner taking place on Saturday evening. The Symposium will be held in the heart of Turin with a lot of history and a charming atmosphere.  The hotel and conference location will be approximately a 10-15 minute walk through the marvelous and historical center of Turin.  A shuttle bus, for those that need it, will also be available. Lunch will be organized for you during the three full days, including a formal one on Friday with a guest speaker for all participants.

Cultural visits for spouses and partners won’t be a problem: you have so many opportunities to choose from that it will be hard to make the right choice: Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Madama, Mole Antonelliana, Teatro Regio, Castello del Valentino, Museo Egizio, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Torino Sotterranea etc. just to mention a few.  Shopping will also be a great alternative!

The Gala Dinner will be an unforgettable event: a royal residence will host us and, at this time, no words would be enough to describe the places and the atmosphere you will find - the only option is to participate!

We mustn’t forget that our reunion will be primarily focused on the technical content and for this reason we will make every effort, together with logistics and cultural focus, to make the Thursday Technical Tour and the conference as interesting as possible with attractive papers, University participation and a high level of technology exposure.

For this to happen we really need your support and we ask you to start right away and submit your paper proposals with the purpose to share the knowledge you gained in flight test experience throughout the years. Any interesting and unique experience you had in planning, executing, reporting and solving unexpected issues during your past flight test activities will be of great help for the future of flight test around the world.  Safety in flight test is the first objective of our community of testers, and we encourage you to share as much as you feel necessary to fulfill the need for a safe, effective and efficient future of any flight test related activity.  Following the same formula of our successful previous Symposia, we continue to solicit presentations and attendance from both Members and Non-Members.

 

This is an official Call for Papers

Presentations should be limited to 25 minutes, an additional 5 minutes will be allowed for questions. No proceedings will be published for this Symposium; therefore, formal written papers are not required. The deadline to submit an abstract is 5th April 2018.

Authors of accepted papers (maximum two authors per paper for this purpose) will be able to register for the conference at a discounted rate.
