He is a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) and is currently serving on the Board of Directors as the Legal Officer, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) where he serves on the Flight Test Technical Committee.

Commander Morey’s SETP strategic vision is to bolster section activities and international membership to ensure a more homogeneous ociety from a section activity and international membership perspective. This year, the board of directors approved distribution of funds to sections to eliminate some of the financial burden for sections to hold valuable technical briefs and social events. There have been many outstanding section activities throughout the years across the country and abroad. There may even be some great ideas from years past that the newer members never participated in (we should ask some of the fellows for their most memorable section events). We should also reach out to areas where sections do not currently exist.

Commander Morey is married to the former Christy Wodrich of Houston, Texas. They have two daughters, Merissa and Camryn, and currently reside onboard Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, California.
