James H. Doolittle Award

The James H. Doolittle Award was established in 1966 to honor outstanding accomplishment in technical management or engineering achievement in aerospace technology by a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots. The presentation of the Doolittle Award is a highlight of the annual Awards Banquet. Each recipient will receive a small replica of the respective award, while the perpetual trophy remains on display at SETP Headquarters.

Selection Criteria
1. Recipient must be a living member of the Society.
2. A significant phase of his accomplishment must have occurred while a member of the Society.
3. The accomplishment must clearly be in the technical management or engineering aspects of aerospace technology.

Nomination Criteria
1. Nominations will be solicited by the Board of Directors.
2. Nominations may be submitted by any SETP member (individual or corporate), as well as any other source that would be in a knowledgeable position to make the recommendation.
3. The Nomination must be presented in writing not later than the SETP August Board of Directors Meeting.

5. The nomination must contain a compelling discussion of the candidate's contribution to the technical management or engineering aspects of aerospace technology.
